Braviary because it's based on the American Eagle, has the colour scheme of the United States' flag and Terry is american as fuck.

Fatal Fury and King of fighters are not in the same universe. All events related to Fatal Fury (aside from MOTW) had him as main character. KOF was made to have Syo Kishirima as main character(that turned into KYO), but Terry is always depicted as the strongest character in the rooster, even at the the level of most of the bosses.

But yeah, pretty much, what you said is right. Terry would be charizard, kyo and iori as a gay bishounen rival duo.
