Types are more than one thing. Psychic is for sheer mental power like Metagross and Alakazam but also mystical things like Xatu and Sigilyph. Fighting is for literal fighting and brute force, but is also the heroic type.

That's true...though a Mega Braviary that was Fighting/Flying be hella cool maybe to match a Dark/Ghost Mandibuzz (yes I know I am a monster cause it gets Overcoat and is Bulky AF). But heck feel like them and every basic-bird mon should get a mega to make them shine. Like a crazy physically defensive Mega Swellow with a specially defensive Mega Noctowl, and a fast as fuck Mega-Staraptor and a physical beast of a Mega-Fearow. Maybe a Mega-Tranquill that has a busted ability like Gale Wings but has more balanced stats overall so it can supportive, defensive or offensive.
