Sandshrew, Sandslash, Muk & Exeggutor are clear improvements over the originals imo.

Vulpix & Ninetales are top tier either way.

I don't really care for either form of Marowak or Raticate. Good thing is most of the worst designs are the pre-evo's, and most of the fully-evolved stages are good.

The trailers have pretty much shown that there isn't any Alolan versions of those Pokemon. Pichu has been shown being used by Hau.

I'm annoyed it's yet more gen 1 circlejerking but at least it's improving older designs.

Alolan Meowth and Exeggutor are shit, but everything else is more or less on par with each other.

The ones where I prefer the Kanto versions don't mean I dislike the Alolan versions, it's just that I happen to like one more than the other. Except Marowak, I think that one was ruined, but hey what can you do.
Most of these are either recolors or just imaginative interpretations of otherwise really boring Gen 1 designs.
