Gen 1 has such variety in its grass types. There are too many grass/poison typings, but aesthetically they are all completely independent from each other and they pull it off without trying to be cute and elegant all the time. I miss getting grass types like that.

I'd have rather had something like the Hoppip line because that's my fetish, but the actual line is fine and pretty much exactly what I was expecting from the fruit it's based on

I usually don't mind feminine looking pokemon. I don't even mind this one. Seriously. Given the masculine looking pokemon we've had, it's nice to even it out. We can't go in expecting things from certain pokemon when it might just not go our ways.

But I'm surprised one of the starters got the same treatment as well. I mean, not that we shouldn't have elegant pokemon as starters nor feminine ones and heck, Water pickers who wanted something of this sort got lucky considering they only had masculine looking Water starters.

But why is it that from all feminine looking starter pokemon, who only looked somewhat feminine but still possible to envision going either way, Popplio's line happens to be the one that looks the most feminine of them all, considering that the first form looks like it could go either way? Was the Fairy type really all that impacting to its design being more effeminate than usual? Was the concept of it being part mermaid/selkie just enough for it to look even more slightly feminine even though there are male versions of those mythological creatures as well?

It's just so odd looking at Popplio and then looking at Poppmaid afterwards. People want me to believe Popplio, Brionne and Poppmaid is all we're going to have and they are more than just confirmed and I can't deny them and yet, I just look at them and for some reason, I feel like there's a counterpart to it. A counterpart not only to Poppmaid, but Brionne as well. Maybe it's just me but fuck.

Compare Vespiqueen that was a queen obviously but still held a lot of design elements in lieu with bees and while she has a more humanoid form she's obviously an animal.

This is barely a grassmon nor a berry. All that is has is a berry skirt. It doesn't even fit in design wise with other waifu mon.

Personally I like the design it's cute but it doesn't at all seem like a Pokemon.

Some designs were made with the intent to appeal to girls specifically.

It has two unique aspects, the shit on its head and the ability to fly. Hoppip and Skiploom spin theirs and fly like helicopters but have to jump to get a boost, while Jumpluff floats around because the fluffy bits are super-light and catch the wind, like real cottonweeds.

These aspects flourish through its evolutions. With each one it puts less effort into floating around, and at the same time each one is a more mature form of plantlife. Leaves, flower, seed dispersal.

Hoppip's line is actually clever. It's the life stages of a rabbit combined with the life stages of a dandelion. It's a high quality cute.

Tsareena's fun too, using the mangosteen's flesh as bloomers, then breeches. It being humanoid is divisive but there's plenty of creativity to the design itself.

I'm fine with having grass waifumons, I've accepted it after all these years. But where are my cool grass types this gen? The only thing we have is Rowlet3. Everything other grass type is a mememon or a waifumon. Just give me a few cool grass types.
