While shipping a large population of then to Kanto, an Alolan merchant ship was capsized and the shipment of Electrode were lost to the sea. Being aritifical, the Electrode were able to survive underwater, and eventually changed to suit the pressure and environment of the sea. They are now used as naval mines by some armies.

Ability is Aftermath. Can use Shell Trap. Normal typing is for Explosion STAB.

These dirty tactics eventually became ingrained into them and caused them to develop a Dark type. Their bodies are now lanky and slightly darker in color. They have developed small visible mouths with fangs, as well as sharp claws on their hands and feet. Mankey's tail now grows proportionately upon evolution as opposed to disappearing.

Malicious spirits of the islands are usually sealed to certain Keystones by the monks and Island deity Pokemon. Although few and far between, some Keystones haven't been properly crafted. The spirit's collective hate eventually cause a Forme Change in the Spiritomb, so it is able to break the rock it is bound to. It searches for those who have wronged/sealed them in the past to cause mayhem, usually only to be sealed again after a destructive spree. Trainer's who train Spiritomb can be at risk if something provokes the Forbidden Pokemon.


Not sure if it does too well for Alola Forms, but I liked the idea of a more power based Spiritomb. Lowers defenses A HUGE amount and increases attack, special attack, and speed by the missing total.

Moves: Learns and introduces a new move, Melt. Melt is basically a fire-type Freeze-Dry against Rock Types instead. Alola Onix, Heatran, Magcargo, and other gooey fire types get it.
Otherwise swaps out most of its Rock moveset for fire moves. Might still get Rock Slide, because Rock slide goes on a lot of big pokemon.

Adapted to better suit the watery region of Alola, where it lacked fields to run

Fiery mane turns into that of flowing seaweed, or perhaps fins start from its horn and flow down its spine. Body takes on a bit of a pale blue rather than cream, deepening and getting scaly and lustrous further down the spine. Back legs morph into a long, frilled, almost serpent-like fishtail. Small fins sprout behind its front hooves. Fins are all either a deep blue or a lustrous sea green, or perhaps a mix of both.

Skarmory Fossil Form

Looks like a buff version of dusknoir. The "face" on its belly are tribal tattoo like marking. The split in the torso is still there but no longer functions like a mouth. Its arms and hands are covered in mummy wrappings like how a fighter might wrap his or her hands. This also brings the design a bit closer to Dusclops. The "headdress" that regular Dusknoir wore is more in line with a hawaiin warrior helm while retaining the cylops eye it has going on. Pic semi related.
