There's nothing wrong with having a waifu.
That said, I've never really undestood having a Pokemon protag as a waifu. They literally have no personality, unless your waifu is the anime version, which opens up so many other issues that I don't even want to touch upon them.
Honestly, despite them all being cute, I don't really think any Pokegirls would make for good waifus. They're all so obsessed with Pokemon, to an autistic degree, I can't see them giving you the time of day over their mons.
