I wasn't particularly impressed with Jangmo-o before (it was just a typical cutesy lizard, whatever), but its evolutions are fan-fucking-tastic. Definitely training this sucker, I just hope we can catch one early.

I agree that they could've done more with it and is a typical fan-art evolution line (gets bigger, multiplication of one detail).
That being said, I think the final evolution looks good, and I definitely do not hate it. Besides, look at Torracat's art. It's awful, yet in game it looks fine (wether you like the design or not). I think it's the case with most of the SM Pokémon, and the Jangmo-o line is probably no exception.
And if not, well, I never planned to use it in the first place.

Huge disappointment. Especially that plate armor was wasted on this design instead of a DRG/STL

First stage is alright in regards to the plate arms, but the plate on the head is comparatively less interesting than Jangmo-o's.

In the final, the plates should have grown and merged somewhat because having rows of 5 circular plates everywhere on the body is just too much noise for the design (that aspect really is representative of the indulgent deviantart fakemon community)

I hate passing judgment on a Pokémon's design before seeing it in-game and in motion, but boy is this one disappointing! Wish they didn't go overboard with its scales that it looks overdesigned. I can understand why many like it since many fans love edgy designs.

Hoping it has great stats and a diverse movepool. Can't wait for the official Pokémon trailer for it, if there'll be any.

Jangmo was the only new mon that I felt any excitement towards, the rest were sad disappointments or just indifferent to me.

If he has good defense as the plate armor would imply, I think he would be a great Eviolite user. Plus you get to choose between two useful abilities.
