Because I hate complete tonal shifts, Red is not from some edgy anime. It looks nothing like Red for the sake of being "badass" and "sexy". even worse when people see this head canon shit as the true Red.

I never got why people got mad at Redgy's characterization, when his in-game battle sprite is a guy with a hat pulled down to partially cover his eyes, his expression a mischievous/challenging smile.

He's the previous champion, and yet he hangs around a mountain alone, mute, officially the strongest trainer of the whole world discovered so far.

And you get mad because people want to attribute a 'cool' factor to him?
Somehow you think it's artificial that a character whose every single trait is made to be impressive would be considered cool?

Any region's "status" is determined BEFORE the player enters it. At the time of GSC, Red is officially the strongest entity in not only johto, but the entire pokemon world known at the time.

Then you beat it, yes, but when you face him you haven't done that yet.
You just have a mute dude from your past with the best team in the game, it'd hardly undeserving of all the praise it gets.
