What's the problem with that? There's a challenge mode which gives the third gym 6 pokemon instead of 5, all of them level 27 except for leavanny which is level 29.

I mean, this was definitely difficult, but it was nowhere near difficult enough to be a problem. It's nice to not be able to win with just leveling my starter. You have to actually build a decent team.

IMO the best part is that almost every Pokemon is viable. I've been running around with a goddamn Meowth and since he evolved he's been ripping apart trainers like nothing. My Snivy turned into part dragon which is also pretty neat. Not too sure who I'll add onto my team but the choice is all mine.

You don't have to grind for this game. I don't get it, the whole point is that weaker Pokemon are buffed, and you can catch them all (gen 6 excluded). There's added difficulty to the Gyms, so yes, you have to make tactical choices in battle, but it's not a grind at all, unless you're playing on Challenge mode. Plus there's added content, like before the first Gym leader you can go against Roxanne if you'd like.

The point of this romhack is to make Pokemon you like viable. If you want a Luvdisc on your team, you can totally do that. It won't be as strong as a Charizard but it's still strong enough to hold its own.

Now that Pokemon have been a bit more equalized in stat distribution or have better typings/movepools, we can now make the game more challenging.

More content, more challenge, all Gen 1-5 Pokemon can be caught. That's really all there is to it, it's not really a standalone game - It's more of an upgrade to an already great game.

i.e. I was 10 levels under Archie's final team because I didn't bother with the sea routes.
