Besides, its not a bad type. it may have a fairy problem, but you wouldn't leave a garchomp in on an ice type either.
It has like 7 resistances, being Bug, Dark, Water, Fire, Grass, Electric, and Rock, iirc. Not to mention how great its typing is offensively.

honestly, I'm the kind of person that regardless of a pokemon's type, I pick it up if they happen to look like the kind of mon I'd legitimately want to get.

That's why, regardless of how good of a type combination Water/Fairy is, I'm not really feeling like picking up Poppmaid. Maybe up until Brionne, but the concept and design behind Poppmaid really really isn't that interesting to me, honestly underwhelming to me even. Even if it happened to become one of the strongest pokemon by some miracle, I still wouldn't want it. And if I wanted a Water/Fairy, I'd just pick up Azumarill which has been one of my favorite mons since a very long time.

Honestly, anon, just go with your gut, but don't reject yourself the idea of going with a pokemon you originally intended to go with just because of a freaking type combination.

Well, I was expecting a Dragon Steel too, but Dragon Fighting is fine. Defensively, it's not as good as Dragon Steel (not at all, that's right), but still very interesting offensively. Design-wise, it may be awesome, and competitively, with solid speed and good movepool, it can be really good and easily overcome his fairy weakness.
Just imagine if it is a mixed fast sweeper (which is unlikely since fighting types are mostly physical, but not impossible), with Vacuum Wave, Dragon Pulse and Aurasphere. It may be strong af

There's not much that makes Fairy type good. The only ones that have really seen much usage are the ones that had absurd boosts with their megas or moves like Mawile and Xerneas or ones that were good prior like Clefairy, Aside from that and a few others Fairy isn't that good a type.
