I work at a Gamestop on the East Coast. I didn't figure this out until literally the last day of the Arceus giveaway. I found out today that they did the same thing for Volcanion so here we go.
This picture is the SKU for Backup Volcanion codes. Basically if a store runs out of codes, they can just put in the 6 digit SKU on the left and on the receipt it'll print up a Volcanion code for each time it's entered. If you live in the areas of high volume stores and they seem to of run out of codes, ask them to print you a couple. A lot of Gamestop employees do not know this is even an option so save this pic, go to your local Gamestop, and have them try it out. They shouldn't have a problem with it and you can most likely ask for multiple codes this way too.
I'll post a couple codes for now before I go to bed. I'll get some extra codes next time I work and post a few more here if it's still alive. Other anons feel free to share experiences with this and/or extra codes you acquire. And Raichus. Post Raichus!

Living in SoCal sucks sometimes, but this just fucking tears it. I really hope the smartass at TPCi who thought doing this for events was a good idea gets publicly lynched. The same can be said for the GameStop employees that took those distribution carts in the first place, they're the reason why we have this shitty distribution method.

Pretty much, the way GameStop handles some types of merch is just awful as well. A series of small plush toys usually have the same entry in their system despite those series having 4-5 different UPCs.

Honestly they probably just suck. We had ours since the end of last month and a company email went out today with the printable sku receipt code. A lot of employees are just really bad at their jobs.

It really depends - there are 3 gamestops close to me with vastly different practices when it comes to codes:
one in the mall which is high-traffic but only gets a few codes so they run out really fucking fast.
one further down the road near target which is frankly more of a toy store than a game store tends to have bricks of them and hands them out like candy.
the last one is in the other direction and gives no more than two per customer and only if they ask for extras. they tend to have codes 'til the end of the month - i suspect they sell the extra codes on ebay.

Speak for yourself, my whole staff knows that we can do this and how. We don't need to print a sku either the backup codes are in our inventory. If your cashier is retarded just tell them to search backup vocanion codes and it'll be listed under DLC.

The Pokemon you recieve from codes or events, when you recieve it does it contain any data related to you? Or is it all only associated to the set trainer ID? I mean if I got one that's the same nature and IVs as someone else is there any way to tell the difference?
