I just want a pokemon game for the home console with mmo-like open world but single player unless you invite friends who can join your game.

Free roaming pokemon with catch conditions.
Like, you have to summon a rain storm before you can catch sunflora because it absorbs the sun light and it makes it slow for you to catch. Or you need a big flying pokemon like charizard or golurk so you can fight rayquaza in the ozone layer and stuff like that.

I want an actual adventure, with super rare or special condition pokemon, rather than go fight people, catch whatever jumps infront of you and steamroll everything

Yea that would be cool anon, but as for me personally I prefer handheld jrpgs. I would find roleplaying harder if the game did it for me. It's like this: I can play play with my legos to build whatever I want (traditional pokemon) or I can build the lego sets with the aliens or knights or whatever (an mmo with catch conditions similar to what you've said). It's cool, but nothing is stopping me from imagining that's the case with traditional pokemon, and if it was infact the real mechanic, it would take away some of my freedom to roleplay.
