Clever design idea.

Something I would probably change is making him looks less like a chipmunk, if that sounds weird. Perhaps if he were slightly mint-greenish, he'd look more like a pokemon.

Color scheme is totally interchangeable, I was just using the colors I had at the time. I can see what you mean, he looks too much like a normal mammal with plant slapped on him.
