A Pokemon War

I imagine, some pokemon like voltorb and electrode would be heavily used as their natural in using explosion. Regions with them naturally would have a high advantage against those with none or those having to illegally import and breed them. So Kanto would have an advantage against places like Kalos or Hoenn.

You could just mass breed them with a ditto. Some pokemon were probably created for war, like Golurk for example. Maybe Claydol too, it seems like a kind of sentry pokemon.

Most of them wouldn't really fight in a war though, they only very rarely hang out with trainers and tend to be smarter than normal pokemon (notice how many of them are psychic type) or are created with a very specific role in mind (Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, ect) that basically rules them out of seriously taking part in a war.

I mean yeah Mewtwo was kind of evil but he's also a manmade pokemon who was resentful of his origins, but eventually came to terms with existence and ended up kind of a moralfag if the anime is any guide.

I'd imagine Magmortar would be used as, well, a mortar firing pokemon. Rhyperior would be a tank. Clawitzer and Octillery would be water-based artillery
