1/6 everything but Noivern is boring as fuck.

Aside from Noivern and I guess Amphy your team is just extremely common Pokemon for and in game team. Also >>29033689 is right. It's not about the metagame, just stick to STAB and coverage with maybe a boosting move in the story.

Stuff like Hypnosis Dream Eater and recharge moves are too slow even for the main game too.
If you wanna make your team strong too, catch a Mareep with HP Fire, don't bother using a Physical Amphy.

Lucario is better of pure physical too.
Test the HP by going to the Psychic in Anistar.

this is pretty good advice, like i said im still kinda new to this and maybe my bias is getting in the way to how im actually forming my team. i'd probably take out Greninja, Lucario, and Gardevoir like >>29033727 said because I do see that their pretty common. Any recommendations on how to use Gengar?

Just use 2stab and 2coverage damage dealing moves, most of the time you'll 2HKO or straight up KO what you might have KO'd with hypnosis+hex if hypnosis landed
