Happened to mine too. The regular XL is probably the worst built of all the 5 current 3DS systems. One drop and you're fucked, the hinges will break regardless of whether of you're careful or not, the matte finish is guaranteed to scratch, the circle pad will go to shit after 3 years. It's just not a very sturdy console. The sturdiest is definitely the 2DS or the New 3DS.

When i was 18 i bought myself a wii u and never really played it, had it for a year and then sold it and got a new 3ds xl. They didn't have a blue one so i got black. As far as games i got metal gear snake eater, smash bros and pokemon x. Also got two amiibo like a week later. Anyway the 3ds is side scroller/rpg heaven and u love it. Choosing the n3dsxl was a good move on my part because i can play whenever wherever.
