Remember when this fucking happened on the Japanese website? Did we ever find out why it was there?

If only...
There was never anything to this. Retards convinced themselves it was linked to the starters specifically, but it wasn't

There was nothing to it, Fighting and Ground types weren't even shown when these were around, they probably had these for all of the types and for some technical reason, they had to include the Ground+Fighting type symbols in, in order for the starters types to be used.
Who knows, but we're so far from when this was and we already know they had nothing to do with the starters.

That's not how you spell Megastone X/Y

I still remember the days when everyone was convinced by these. God dammit, it was so annoying, you couldn't come up with other peculative type combos and designs since everyone was CONVINCED these will be there final types. Idiots on YT hammered this notion even further (the comments were just as much of a battle ground as you got). I'm glad they finally got disproven and everyone shut up about them (I was constantly coming with arguments why Popplio can not become a Figjting type and this was before Poppmaid was thrown in the equation).

my favorite part is when people actually thought Rowlet would become Grass/Ground because the order absolutely mattered.

The website devs just happened to save those icons in that order.
