This is my first ever Nintendo product
(yeah sue me) so I have no idea how to
do anything. If I buy (pic related) this I can somewhere
enter a code and play pkemon fire red
on my 3ds, correct? And how would I do that, or
is it obvious?
Thanks

OP here
TL;DR
If I buy this can I play fire red on my 3ds?
>>29012447
there is a button that says how it works.
>>29012447
Red ≠ Fire Red
That there is for the original Red game. Fire Red is the remake.
You can just buy Red off the 3DS eShop IIRC. It'll be digital like any other download game. No point in going through a third-party site.

That's not Fire Red. It's just Red. The GameBoy game, in black and white.
>>29012447
This isn't fire red, it's the first game just called "red". After buying this off amazon it'll give you a code you use on the E-Shop. After purchase it'll basically tell you what to do though.

Black 2 and White 2?
You can't play fire red which is the GBA remakes of RB, but you can buy that via amazon go to the nintendo store on your 3ds and then enter the code and you will have the game. You can even just go to the e-shop on your 3ds and buy the game directly instead of buying the code off amazon.

How are you going to play that game if you don't have a 3DS?

The 3ds is my first ever
Nintendo product.

What everyone says it true. Pokemon Red is the first pokemon game to come out in America, so it's in the color black and white. Firered is the remake of it which is in color but not on the eshop. The game you buy on Amazon, in this case Red will give you a code for the first game to come out. Where do you live? Because if you buy a code on American Amazon, and try and put it on a Europeon 3ds, it wont work. you have to buy from the same region you are in. Once you get a code just google "how to input game code on 3ds" or something like that on google
Just emulate you fucking idiot

fucking this, if it was some obscure indie game i would get but its fucking pokemon, its not like you're going to own a physical copy anyways
No. This is for the original Red game for Gameboy, not FireRed for GBA. There's currently no way to play FireRed on 3DS without hacking it (which I recommend, but you might not be able to do depending on the version or might fuck up since it's your first Nintendo product).
You can emulate gen 3 games on a 3DS if you know how. They just don't run especially well unless you have a new model.

You can and you don't have to follow that A9LH guide. There's many different ways to hack a 3DS. I personally used the 9.2 browser exploit and downngraded to 4.2 with Gateway. Don't use Gateway though because free alternatives like Luma exist.
