I have a younger half-sister that I haven't seen in years. I'm 18, she's 9. I've always wanted to introduce her to the series, but I don't know how I'd go about doing it. For me, seeing my younger brother play a pokemon game was a painful experience.

I made my little Brother Play FR in december, He was asking for it for months.
He picked Bulbasaur as his starter (best choice)
He is in this exact moment playing Soul silver
He has 3 shinies
I'm proud

My sister is now 7 and she picked up Pokemon XY when she was 6 or so and she hes completly hooked, she has played crystal till red, and is now playing emerald, but she prefers to watch the anime, she is about to see Ash enter the hoenn league or something, i think that at one point she saw more than 100episodes in 2 weeks.
