I thought so too, but I popped open my HG file and even though I'm at the Goldenrod Seige, I went back there for the screencap and the guy was still talking about the Pokemon Professor Elm has to show you.

I have a feeling it's because the guy is still there in Kanto. But then again, BW2 has the guy there in Aspertia. Havent gotten back to Nuvema in BW2 to see if someone's still there. Not that I needed that.
