Its design is the definition of unorganized. It has fucking barbs as its ears it also has some clothe looking features which makes it ugly and it just fits more as A gender specific evo like gardevoir and gallade not to mention the day after it was announced it was automatically waifu shit

It's a bit ugly if you ask me. I think it's a bit cute at the same time though. Actually like it more than Popplio.

I think it looks significantly different enough to be an evolution. Ivysaur's plant just begins to blossom, and Dewott just gets a little taller and turns blue, so it's hardly the smallest change between starter evolutions. Even Torracat just gets a little bigger and develops the "bell" on its neck, and Torracat is one of the better received middle stage starters of this gen. Meanwhile Brionne has a significantly different face shape and expression, different colouration, appendages like its ears, tail, and flippers develop further, and even the collar frill multiplies and moves to suit the start of a skirt or dress that'll possibly become more prominent in a future evolution, etc.

I do understand the view that it doesn't change enough to make a smooth transition into Poppmaid though, assuming it is the final stage for the line, because the jump from Popplio to Poppmaid is pretty big and Brionne is only maybe a third of the way towards it rather than half. Then again, the jump from second to third stages in starters is usually more significant than the jump from first to second, like Dewott I mentioned, so I'm not exactly surprised by that. The trend is similar along the rest of the starters, assuming the leaked final forms are real.

I guess when people say it just gets bigger, it kind of looks like it's unevolved. The head to body percentage looks too similar to a basic stage Pokémon, even in comparison to Popplio and later it's leaked evo.
I actually really like Brionne as a standalone design, better than the others. And I agree that Torracat is the same. It literally just gets bigger with a bell. It still looks unevolved unless you compare it to Litten.

I don't like it because Brionne and it's evolution follow idea that the fairy type have to be cute/girly/feminine with pinkshit while there is Tapu koko who doesn't folow the stereotype and it has a cool design.
