one of the major, really important rivers of India is one of the most polluted rivers perhaps of the entire earth.

But here's the weird part, this river somehow has developed filter cleaning bacteria that thrives and eats the garbage and shit that is thrown in the river, so you can still drink it and actually be okay.

It'd be an interesting concept for a pokemon. A self cleaning river that needs trash to keep cleaning itself.

There's a temple in India that's dedicated to the worship of rats. Probably the only temple in the world that worships rats. The monks sit down with the rats and hand feeds them bread and gives them bowls of milk and water to drink. They also clean away the dead rats. And once in a while the rats will give birth to a albino rat. The albino rat is considered extra special, as a rat that is so holy, it's power levels are shown through its white fur and red eyes, ya know, like a Super Saiyan rat.

Finding a lack of major power plants that were not either well-secured or not overrun by Muk, it adapted to the Himalayas, generating power by eating gobs of snow. It moves large stones and ice blocks around to pool snow together to stockpile it in case it ever gets too warm and the snow melts. Basically a yeti. Elecvire would also have an India Form, but Elekid would remain Electric.

Some kind of Garuda-based waifumon that resembles a harpy. Fairy/Flying, high defenses and speed.

Someone like pic related would be the champion, use either a Medicham or Florges as main partner.

It mostly depends on where the game takes place.
You could have a big desert area, with lots of Ground types.
It's a mostly hot and dirty country, so Poison and Fire types.
A lot of Psychic types too, because of the mythology.
There would definitly be Cow and Tiger Pokemon.
Consider how the have some bodies of water they consider holy, some water based Legendaries are a must.

The main Legendaries can be anything. There's a lot to choose from. If they go with the most popular choice, they could use the Trimurti.

Brahma the Creator
Vishnu the Preserver
Shiva the Destroyer

Seeing how different religions cause a lot of conflict in India, this could be the inspiration of the evil teams.
There could be two teams, one worshiping and wanting to meet Brahma-Legendary to change the world, while the other wants to meet Vishnu-Legendary. This fighting angers the Shiva-Legendary, and it's your job as the player to stop him from destroying the region.

Know that my knowledge of India is very limited. All this is what I gathered from a quick google search. But all in all, I think it could be an interesting region to play in, if we can tolerate the poo in the loo.
