This applies to practically every fan drawing of every Pokemon though.

People will always use artistic liberties to make a mon look cuter if that's what they want to portray.

As much as I try, this design seriously puts me off and is probably one of the most awkward looking starter stages to look at. People say it's pretty, people say it's cute.

I honestly can't see how.

God forbid the day I ever witness Poppmaid's 3D model, I feel like it's going to be as awkward to look at as Delphox's 3D model, especially after seeing that front profile of it in the concept art.

I'm hoping for splits, but I already know we won't. Which is a shame, because at least, that would mean more people would be happy and this board would become much more tolerable once the games finally release.

That's too bad friend. I disagree with your assessment and really like how it looks and moves in game. Also as a side note, I feel they did a pretty decent job with the frills reacting to the floor on the most part.

The vast majority of fanart takes liberties on Pokemon. Most of the main elements are still there with proportion sometimes tweaked to an artists personal style or preferences.
