In a nicer way to put this, as an artist who draws a lot of stuff like this and likes to do commission, what you're asking for is minimum $150 commission if you were to go off of my prices (and that isn't overcharging by any stretch of the imagination, some people charge $100 just for a human character alone). A more suitable request would probably just your character and one of the pokemon hugging or whatever.

I don't think OC character requests should be shunned but if you're going to request that kind of thing don't expect people to go all out to draw it. Last part goes for any request honestly.

This, and adding to it, like that first anon said at least a complicated request taken from here can be posted somewhere else by the artist and appreciated instantly by anyone who comes across it if they're canon characters. With OC requests it takes away additional recognition an artist could have gotten had they drawn a canon character, as the work wouldn't be as "valuable." I hope you're not asking for real lines or color or anything, because the chances of an artist wanting to spend 2+ hours for you, a complete stranger, for absolutely nothing is really low.

I did say not all Pokemon have to be included. Maybe just 1 or 2, like Jumpluff. Made a similar request before. Where my old trainer's photo was still on Global Link, even though I hadn't logged on GL for nearly 3 years. And that was because I had to sell my 3ds and games at the time.So logging on after so long, had a really nostalgic sting to it. And when it got delivered I actually cried a little.

It's basically the reason I'm making that request. Hunting down all those shinies was really fun. And if I ever lose my game, or have to sell it, it'll have that same sting as last time. Something to remember the adventure.

It always helps to think of things other people can enjoy and share, not just for the motivation of artists, but because drawthreads are meant to contribute to the board at large. When someone draws something like cutiefly and joltik going on adventures, it eventually turns up in threads for cute art or discussing the pokemon involved, but something as specific and complex as your character and team distances itself from that. A scenario with just one pokemon and a generic trainer is more easily relatable, or interests fans of the specific pokemon.

Read the manga, or watch Getter Robo Armageddon since it's based on the manga. The original anime has a really different tone than the manga.

I think Mazinger Z predates it as being the original mech anime, but both series are by the same creator (they also have different tones from each other though, Mazinger is lighter than Getter). I'm not an expert on mecha so someone please correct me if I spoke wrong about something.

I do have a good amount of art where I make it from scratch, ( I actually have a webcomic and I make all the art for that the hard way ) but for most of the stuff I've made for these drawthreads, I've superimposed the drawings on top of others. As in, they're Rotoscoped. As in, I trace over an existing image as a base and work from there.

It's not the most honorable way of drawing, but I decided to draw for these threads to share reaction images and ideas and stuff. It's more or less just a means to an end.

I'm looking at my team I did a while back, and it almost fits the canvas, but yeah it gets really obvious that empty space is an issue.
Scattering pokemon around seems like the easiest way to go. So I'd imagine at least adding Ariados as well... But it does suck not knowing what else he's going to have yet. Maybe Salandit has a really neat evo. Maybe there's more Poison types that haven't been revealed.

If I can force myself through my current request this weekend, I'll see if I can scribble something up as far as like. placement and space filler.

If it were someone better doing this, it would be pretty amazing instead to have Guzma against one end, protag against the other, and their teams filling the rest of the screen, "ace" mons clashing at the middle.
... Might not even be so complicated if they keep up the never having 6 pokemon trend.
But that's the kind of thing that's impossible before playing the game.

Yeah, but I thought you did it as a joke since it looked like a Mega Man boss(and you said as much). I really liked it for what it was, but it doesn't feel like a pokemon. The biggest contributor to that is the green parts. You made them armor instead of moss. The wildly exaggerated proportions(while awesome in your art) also give more of a Mega Man vibe while also making the Gorilla look like a Fighting type, rather than Grass/Rock.
But if I'm being honest, I like your gorilla better than 90% of the actual Mega Man bosses since Mega Man 2. It's really fucking cool in that context.
