Gen 8. Then gen 5 remakes in gen 9

NX is likely to get revealed at the end of October. I can understand releasing a Pokémon game on 3DS directly after the reveal, but by the time a remake came out for Gen 7, the 3DS would be obsolete. Gen 7 will probably just be Sun & Moon without a third game, sequels or remake to go with it.

Although, I could see the first NX Pokemon game being a new engine Red and Blue remake with S&M compatibility.

Nah, they'll only re-remake Red and Blue for the 30th anniversary in 2026, and only because both Gen 4 and Gen 5 will have been remade by then.

Don't know. Sounds plausible that they do RB remakes now because of the Pokemon GO popularity plus all the Alola forms. I doubt they'll leave the massive bunch of 8-year old fans without their original Kanto-mon, given that the majority of them will never play XY because they are "outdated".

Is there a big fan demand? DP was more popular than RS, but there was a big clamor for Hoenn remakes around XY's release. I wish they'd make a sequel instead. Or if they must remake it, I hope they completely rebuild the map, abandoning the grid and using SM's style. Sinnoh could be so beautiful fully realized. I want an Arceus episode following the Distortion World, and Darkrai catchable in-game.

I think the response to Sun and Moon might determine what comes next, unless something's already in production. If people want more Alola, I can see another third version happening.

Platinum was an okay imporvement on the awful DP, so IF those improvements are left in, and the engine runs well, it may be good.

I've actually noticed a pattern with the Remakes
FRLG (gen 1.5 if you count the sevi islands, updated types and what not) Came out in Gen 3

HGSS, remakes of Gen 2, came out in Gen 4

ORAS, remakes of Gen 3 came out in Gen 6

So if this keeps up, we can expect DPPt Remakes in Gen 8.

BW Remakes in Gen 10

And XY probably on the NX with full graphics in Gen 12
