Now that megas are finally confirmed, can we talk about Z-Moves and its impact on Gen VII meta?
We know fuck all about them. There's nothing to discuss until we actually have numbers.

We know that as long as a Pokémon carries a move from any type it can use a Z-Crystal corresponding to the type of the move it carries. Now, which Pokémon would benefic the most?
If the common type ones are all just one use attacks, I don't think it will do too much. Maybe the sheer amount of increased viability because of the Megas ban will bring Pokemon that can utilize it well into the spotlight. Archeops could probably use it, since it doesn't usually hold an item anyway. A STAB rock nuke seems pretty good in my mind, and after it can use its now 110 bp Acrobatics. I don't know too much about competitive, not nearly as much as I'd like to, but I see a lot of potential

I think fast Pokemon with low offensive stats like Crobat would benefic too, at least for a turn. I also think it would aliviate stall.

I think there will be many with some nice secondary effects
>Guaranteed burn
>Guaranteed toxic
>Paralyzes
>Confuses - probably psychic
>Priority
>Trapping like pursuit
>Breaks through protect - ghost
>Reduces enemy's stats
>Clears entry hazards - ground?
Stuff like that. What other effects are likely?

We won't know until all the Z-Moves come out.
If all of them are just BEEG DOMMAGE (excluding exclusive moves) then it won't make much of a difference to the meta.
If for example the Dragon Z move is Dragon Dance+2, you can bet your ass that Garchomp will use that Z-Move a lot.
By now, they are just glorified gems.
There's gonna be a ton with nifty effects though so can't say anything until we know what do they do in specific.
Not expecting much, if there are more moves like Extreme Evoboost, those will probably find a niche, but I don't think the nukes will be able to outshine the consistent extra damage gained from Life Orb or Choice items.

Extreme Evoboost will make Eevee an option in Doubles with a Friend Guard mon
the other ones are glorified Gems and I can only see them being niche unless the Special Fighting one breaks Chansey or something
Since there will be generic Z-Crystal and with Extreme Evoboost isn't an attacking one I think the Z-Move a Pokémon will do will be based on the category of the move. I know it is not fully known how will Z-Moves will work but this would make more sense.
