I'm disappointed Litten seems to be dropping the bomb motif, and the moment I saw Popplio I knew that for the first time since Venusaur I wouldn't be picking the Water starter.
For now I'm planning on using
Salandit
Pikipek
Vikavolt
Mimikyu (even if it's a Pikachu-without-light-ball-tier shitmon)
some Water-type
and a free slot. Maybe Bounsweet's evolution, maybe one of the Dragons.

I'm sure I'll find a Water-type I like, it just won't be one of the gimmicky ones we've seen so far.
It's Hawaii after all, and Masuda would never neglect his favourite type.
