And the chakras, as they respectively reflect the throat, root and heart chakras, matching their colors of blue, green and red. So, energy in general. Being a legit anthro and bara on top of that, Litten's final evo is way more "furbait" than Poppmaid ever could be.

They seem to be really based on the idea of "coming of age" and maturity to me, like the theme of the story. The starters all start as cute little babs, then become cute awkward little teenager-types- nerdy Dartrix, peppy/cutesey Brionne, and Torracat the jocky/athletic type. All three evolve, if the leaks are true, into basically just adult-looking forms that still embody those ideas. The nerdy one is still somewhat nerdy but mature and pretty cool, the cutesey one becomes an adult beauty, and the athletic one is... well, still that, but an adult. It just seems to me like the idea is to focus on growth and maturity in the starters so while the trainer grows up through their coming-of-age trial, the starters grow up with them.
