These are its unique contributions. Everything else was shared with many other Pokémon, most notably Pikachu and Alan's Charizard. Greninja didn't have a reason to be singled out in a prophecy. I'll concede, I knew he was going to be in the games in some way or form, I was NEVER one of those "le anime exclusive xD!" people, but my issue was how it was going to be implemented into the game and if it would be forced in your face as something you have to use (see: Mega Lucario in XY).

I admit I'll miss scenes like this when Serena is no longer around. The fact that we had a main girl who was also very attractive crush over Ash and crave his dick all saga was something I never expected the anime to do.

XY really felt like one last hurrah for the older fanbase. We got shonen competent Ash almost winning a league, a waifu, an edgy rival, a competent villain team plot, and great animation.

I feel like the writers really failed to capitalize on what they had at their disposal with Ashs Pokemon, primarily Noivern.

Pikachu, Talonflame, Greninja, and Hawlucha each had fairly great development but Noivern was a failed chance at having something great.

The writers had the opportunity to make Noivern a Pokemon that could stand up in the ranks with Pokemon like Garchomp and Charizard. To be a strong and imposing Pokemon that's fast and powerful.

It would essentially be Charizard with those moves. Had it been given a better move set like Dragon Claw, Boomburst, Flamethrower, and Supersonic, it could have had incredible moments. But as it stands Noivern had zero impact on the League or Ash at all considering it didn't help him win a single event.
