Artistically, crystal is the best. It could be considered a peice of post-modern art in itself. I personally feel it is a real triumph, even if it was hugely dissimilar to the other two. The probably it's Platnium but I was a huge giratina-fag so never bought the game but I appreicate it changed the game alot story wise and visual wise. Emerald is last but still a really great game.

Crystal was a complete evolution of GS, first female character, battle tower, animated sprites, special music for legendaries, legendary related plot, was the first actual Pokémon main game for GB color even the small text boxes with the name of the areas when you enter them.

It did more for crystal that much is true but it pales in comparison to Emerald.
The biggest and most significant change to the game was probably the BF for both but compared to Emerald the Plat frontier is mediocre because.the facilities were mostly the same.
Emerald also added several new areas to the game while the only one Plat did was the distortion world which was solely inhabited by giratina so it was just a short walking sim with nothing in it.
The pokenav got the match call feature, poketch got a back button.

It's SLIGHTLY faster at the cost of frame drops in more cluttered areas and there's a fuck ton of gimmicks like the distortion world and such.
