Literally, half of the fire starters so far have ended up fire-fighting, it's going to be over half if Luchalitten proves true or isn't dark secondary.

That's two and possibly going to be three more than any other fire starter secondary typing and that even includes pure-fire.

Though a strange part of me hopes in future games we'll use regional forms, leveling, feeding, care, and even capturing multiples of the same pokemon species to help us add more to the pokedex until we built up with a fairly comprehensive encyclopedia.

These are all dope as fuck, good designs and art. Far too many people confuse forms with fusions and it's annoying, forms are actually a viable concept that if gamefreak wasn't lazy could've been implemented way sooner. Espeially grass types, new forms with different foliage are almost too easy to do.

Regional forms for things that aren't from the gen they're remaking. Wouldn't make sense for gen 4 pokémon to have Sinnoh forms in a gen 4 remake for example, the ones we know are the sinnoh forms.

That'd be cool. The breeding could get an overhaul and have some Pokemon connected by family trees or something. Breeding two Pokemon could create a Pokemon that already exists, or create a new species.

For example

I just don't think changing it heavily would make sense. If I had a regular Aipom from Emerald and transferred it to the new games and it was now Fairy/Fighting or something it would be strange.

And cosmetic changes are something easy to do and can give Pokemon more variety. It's like how there's different colored Labradors. They're the same dog, they just look different.

The introduction of regional forms is something that I love so much that if they drop it for Gen 8 I might very well quit the franchise.

Hell, I wouldn't mind it if the first Pokemon game on the NX was in Kanto where a huge chunk of the available Pokemon were Kanto forms of Pokemon from the other generations.

Gotta be honest, if I had to chose between regional forms for much of the pokedex, maybe even multiple for one mon in one region, or between new pokemon for each generation I would choose the former. I think if you make them distinct enough they are new pokemon in all but name and especially for water and grass pokemon there is huge potential. What I also really like is the whole breeding aspect. Seems like a much better alternative to IVs to me.
