Yes and No.
I feel people are letting their hype get the best of them. Even if its better than XY, its still the first installment to a generation. a Tower clone is to be expected for post-game, with a mid-level exploration like BW or DP had. Difficulty could be better than XY, but still easier than gens 3-5. They are still using the same models as XY, so performance will only be slightly better, at best.
None of this makes them bad games, but they will be seen as such if people don't calm down.

I sure agree that Sun and Moon is already overhyped to the maximum because people saw great graphics, Pokemon and few cool features and now they think its the best game ever even though we still dont know many things about actual content (specially post game wise) or difficuoty level. Im afraid with this much hype people will end up disappointed no matter what because every game has some flaws and so will Sun and Moon

With all the references to "regions far away", Moondials, Project Azoth, the barely-existent endgames, the pointlessness of Zygarde, not even 75 new Pokemon, and the piss-easiest league to ever exist, you cannot hope to believe that Gen VI was anything other than just a test run of a Pokemon Game with 3D models. Gold and Silver introduced two new types, breeding, Splitting Special Attack and Special Defense, it gave Ghost damaging attacks, it gave Bug Damaging attacks, it gave you two whole leagues, notorious Gym Leaders to this goddamn day, a continuation and conclusion of Generation 1's story, events based on the time of day, or the day of the week. It was the first whole Pokemon game that was not a rushed glitchy mess, and improved on Gen 1 in every imaginable way as a good sequel should.

the stuff you're mentioned for GS are mostly battle mechancic aspects, not actual game content. Thats like saying fairy typing, nerfing Steel and megas and hordes are content in gen 6
