I can deal with Ash-Greninja jobbing in the league, I can deal with Ash-Greninja not doing much in the Team Flare arc.

But getting rid of the transformation ENTIRELY preventing possible uses of it in future seasons is just... ridiculous. Especially considering Greninja's popularity in Japan. It's like the directors realized that people were wanking over Greninja more than Charizard now and they were like "M-MUH LIZARD", making Charizard win in the league and do more shit in the Team Flare arc so people will start wanking over him again.

XY and XY&Z have been amazing, but sometime during XY&Z a higher up must have walked into the anime room and smeared shit all over the Greninja merchandise and came over the Charizard merchandise.

If it doesn't then I wont actually even be surprised, they don't even care about amour even though it was one of the best parts of XY. When it comes to ending this they seem to have no idea what they are doing.

Part of me things they're intentionally downplaying Serena's departure to avoid backlash from fans/angry shippers going into Sun/Moon.

Looking back, they made Misty's goodbye way too dramatic and sad especially with the original music playing "tears of cloudy weather." If Misty had actually been happy to return to the Gym or decided herself she wanted to be a Gym leader again, my guess is her fanbase wouldn't have gone as crazy as they did. They still would have been bitter, but not as much.
