Well in Japan, while Dark is called Evil type, it's more about fighting dirty, so Litten3 could become a Heel wrestler who always fights dirty, but really I think they could be going for another Gen IV vibe, where each starter had a secondary type to balance out their weakness, but to improve on it ('Cause Empoleon got a bit fucked over).
