The big problem is that the Japanese anime producers HATE the idea of letting go of Satoshi (since it's the Japanese producers ultimately, I'm using the Japanese name here) as the main character, and thus, new regions that should have been explored by a fresh face are instead treaded by one fucking trainer who has remained ten for twenty years.
