I guess she was meant to be this Chaotic Good loose canon but the Delta Episode was so poorly written that she just came off as an insufferable maniac.

A meteor is coming to Earth and instead of letting the scientists teleport it to another dimension or whatever she tries to summon Rayquaza to save the planet.

Not only is it implied that she convinced Maxie/Archie to awaken Groudon/Kyorgre to summon Rayquaza, but she's obsessed with wanting to be the one who gets chosen by it.

Rayquaza has none of her shit and chooses you instead. You Mega Evolve the Fug, wipe the floor with her team, go to space, catch Deoxys and that's that.

Anyway most of the time the label "kid-friendly" isnt about the kids themselves. It's just the media exposure limit implemented to satisfy the majority of parents ideals for their kids. Most kids rarely got disturbed or even cared about violence or gore, unless they are already taught and digested the concept of morality.
