Sadly, the OT, location and such is there to make it match the event. Without those things there's a chance it may trip the system. Only the event banette can do cotton guard. It's a nonstandard move.

Recently hacked my 3DS and discovered PCHex++.

Was just wondering, how safe or unsafe is it to go modifying Pokémon? Would it be detectable if you modified IVs, nature or ability with this?

Frankly the only thing I really care about to not soft-resetting like a bitch for decent event Pokémon. I've got a huge backlog of mythical Pokémon to collect from the deliveryman on two games and even with three guaranteed 31 IVs it's a bitch to do.

Changing IV nature or ability is only detectable is the new pokemon becomes illegal by doing so. If you change the nature of a nature locked event pokemon then it will show as illegal.

Same with ability, if you give HA to a pokemon that can't have it based on its origin then it will flag the pokemon as illegal. Give a pokemon a new move that is egg only but the pokemon is caught in the wild? illegal. Give the pokemon a new move that is egg only and the pokemon is hatched, but you forgot to add the move to the egg move list? illegal.


That being said, when you have the possibility of using pchex you might aswell inject all the event mon directly.

There is nothing "unsafe" about modifying pokemon. It is completely undetectable unless the pokemon is illegal the ball, Met data, moveset, nature, and ability all have to be compatible with each other and the pokemon.

For example you cannot have an HA Ho-Oh unless its in a Dream Ball, originates from Pokémon Dream World, was first met in B2W2, and has a met level that is a multiple of 5 but no higher than 40.

The main reason I asked was I wondered if there were any kind of checksums or such that verify that a Pokémon actually matches up with these hidden values.
