Can you people put your autism or retardation aside for one post? There's no way GF would take a signature bird type such as a woodpecker and turn it into a toucan.

Pigeons and robins are boring and don't have anything about them that can be used to make them stand out. A woodpecker has a beak, strong enough to put holes into the side of trees. Like I said, there's no way GF will let that kind of real-world ability slide by turning Pikipek into a toucan and completely removing all the creativity they could get from a 3-stage woodpecker line. Which is why most people think its final evolution will be Steel/Flying

Well, most of the starting route flying types changes a lot from their original design/species they're based on.

Pidgeot is pretty much a bird of prey with falcons and ospreys as roots in its design and Pidove a dove evolves into a pheasant and you mentioned Talonflame so that's that etc.

I wonder how GF can make Pikipek look complete as a 3 staged woodpecker, unless it actually evolves into a bird with toucan characteristics/design. I'm not shitting on the potential that Pikipek could probably end up as a pure woodpecker designed Pokemon, but lots of other early route bird Pokemon changes somewhat in their design origin in their last stage.

By all means the toucan shown on the shirt that the heroine wears in the trailer could be a new separate bird Pokemon.
