I still remember skipping lunch period to sneak into the computer lab and try to get past the blocks to play WotLK. I only got as far as installing the client and being able to get to character select. Good times...it felt so long ago but in actuality it isn't. That was in '09 I think.

07' on the date DP released in the states was the last time I stepped foot in a Toys R US to get my preorder.

I was 16 watching Battle Frontier on Cartoon Network every day because I had nothing better to do. Ended up wanting to play Pokemon again just when Diamond was coming out.

I've put 300 hours into Diamond. It's not the best, but I'm happy it got me back.

D&P had the worst movies

I legitimately loved sinnoh when it was first released, I had diamond pearl and platinum and sunk in 300+ hours into them. I get that the game played quite slow in hindsight but the games were fantastic if you don't take that into account. Sinnoh is one of the best regions

D&P were utter shit but Sinnoh was saved by Platinum. Best story, best dex, and a map that's VERY underrated ( certainly better than gen 5 which was all over the fucking place and it still gets praise for some reason ), and one of the best games gameplay wise in the franchise. I also loved the post game and the new battle frontier.

I don't "miss" it, but I had my fun playing them after ignoring the franchise during the later gen 3 and D&P years. I also blame it for introducing the "too many damn ugly and useless legendaries" trend that only got worse.

Diamond and Pearl were troublesome and Platinum also had its share of flaws, but I fucking love Sinnoh. It's feels like a real place that could actually exist and still manages to have variety across the region. If we do get a remake all I'd want is for them to crunch down on HMs and change some pokemon locations (getting level 3 psyducks and ponytas is fucking ridiculous)

Chimchar won in the end for me, but I really regret not having that eventual Empoleon with the blade arms for flippers or Torterra for the comfy "walking camp" feel.

I did start with gen 1 and dislike it desu it was cool but compared to D/P/PT games it pretty much sucks. D/P/PT are my favourite gen till this day and i enjoy them more than the actual newer games like the new games are mostly play through and dropped while D/P/PT was playing through with breaks in the underground area building your base hunting fossils then later getting the event legendaries visiting their spots.

Is it weird Dawn seems more popular now than back when DP was originally airing? Back then I still remember Misty fans whining on forums when DP was airing about how "girly" Dawn was or that her Piplup was annoying. It didn't help matters DP came out during the dub switch from 4kids and the change in voices made a lot of people angry at the time who didn't follow it in Japanese.
