I don't like the color scheme, but the rest of the design looks fine to me. It's not one of my favorite Gen 7 designs, and I'd probably use Passimian before giving this a spot on my team, but I don't hate it.

Hala seems to use one in his battle, so that may say something about its viability, but the vgc trailer showed it having a pretty wide movepool with close combat, punches, and crab hammer.
I like the design and it fits the tropical island theme in general. It was neat that they gave it to Hala since coconut crabs are associated mainly with coconut and Hala trees across the Pacific.
Although, Coconut crabs are illegal in Hawaii due to being non-native three foot omnivorous land hermit crabs

Because the base animal Crabrawler was designed from is purely terrestrial as an adult. So Game Freak decided to keep to that, rather than pulling a Hippowdon or whatever and radically change the environment they live in.
