Finished mine during xy including bankable formes and gender differences. Had a full dex in or before the gym, was great.

I've had a completed pokedex since Gen 4, but this will be the gen that I finally bother to get a living dex. I shouldn't need too much more for it, only 100~ or so not counting new pokemon.

Barring legendaries and item trade evos I'm finished up to gen V.

V and VI are both fully set up and I'm currently just evolving them all.

I have most of my trade items and I'm going to do them all at once at the end.

That's why I'm having such bother just closing out my Hoenn dex. I have to fuck around in Battle Resort to get the protector and dark cloth thing.

By the end of this year, i'll have everything through gen 6 with the exception of Diancie. I started in January and finally got the shiny charm in August.

Sure, do it at night as well, that effects the duskball.

Make use of game sync/global link trade. It took me so long to learn about this. Just play the balloon popping games and you can get evolution items you need. I once got 5 magmarizers I didn't need after using up all my points. Used a friends DS to do tradebacks with and put the magmortars up for trade. Got so many hard to get pokes that day.

You could also get battle points from pokebank and use them to get the trade evolution items that way but Game sync is a good way to get evolution stones if you aren't good at super training like me.

Still missing Diancie and the three not yet released 20th anniversary mythicals.

2bh it was really hard to complete a dex in advanced gen since you generally needed 3 different games and there was no online trading or transfer from past gen functionality.

Gen 3 was the one and only gen that I didn't complete a dex in because I quit pokemon for a few years after Ruby.

All legends made before gen 4 are a pain in the ass. I just use a Smeargle with Dark Void, Twave, False Swipe and Thief as my generic catcher utilitymon.

Bring mostly timer and dusk balls. Use dusk balls until turn 40 then switch to timer. You can try a quick ball or two at the start and hope for a good roll.

So when do people plan on porting this to Gen 7?

At what point can we be comfortable that no glitches or quirks from SM will brick the game, wipe save data, or generally fuck with Pokemon Bank?

I think it'll be safe, they will back up our banks anyway when it goes live. I'll be porting them as soon as possible into SM to get the shiny charm and start new Pokemon breeding. If also like to be pretty ready for importing my SM living dex to the bank. I'm really hoping the Alolan forms have their own dex number otherwise I guess we'll just have a 'alt type forms' box

I started this month in AS, traded a ton of fodder I had in Y. I finished Sinnoh yesterday. Pumped 140 hours already, 60 of those last week alone.

I'm waiting for Volcanion and all GF Mythic pokemon to be released to finish the living dex.

Right now am just restarting AS to capture a Deoxys with a corresponding nature for each form. So yeah, not doing much...

The hardest part was gathering all Vivillons i guess, it was a ok challenge.

To me the fun part is the challenge of getting them. Slowly building your collection. Also, you forgot all the pokemon with gender differences...

Like you dont have a male and a female pikachu, nor a male\female hippowdon, or wobbuffet...

I'm just going for regular old dex completion and I'm getting pretty close to my Hoenn dex completion
Just some spare evos to go through and then I need to get me a Kyogre
After this I'm gonna go through and work on my Kalos dex on Y and then once that's done, trade everything over to OR and fill in the blanks on the other gens somehow

I only started doing it a few weeks ago (I had a problem with my wifi, so I was seriously lacking in any motivation to try), but we've gotten it fixed.

I'm only missing about 80 Pokémon now. I've brought so much stuff up from gen 4/5 that I got most of it done that way. It's actually strangely satisfying to work on it.

Got pokebank and ORAS a week ago or something and am working on my living dex now.

Figure that and having some solid competitive parents and such and a full set of synchronizers is about the only useful thing I can do right now.

SM will have its own "pentagon" unfortunately so I won't be able to use all of the legendaries I'm soft resetting for right now but oh well.

For those who don't speak Moon, they're promising the Pokemon Bank Update, to combine Virtual Console and S&M into Pokemon Bank capabilities: in January, 2017.
Remember: the games come out November 2016.
And regionals is about three weeks later.
Which means People in regionals won't have PKHex, and are unlikely to have the perfect-IV pokemon from their ORAS teams.

You can catch wild Huntail / gorebyss in B2/W2... in one place, with a super rod, as a rare encounter, in rippling water.
It's like, just left of the desert highway, (cool wind in my hair), there's a section that fronts on a little tiny bit of water. Walk Back & forth until you see ripples, surf out, use the super rod, and if you're 5% lucky you'll catch one.

I recently finished up a second living dex I'm saving for when S/M comes out. Because I'm a weird autist, I really enjoyed gen 6 and played the shit out of it so I figure I'll want to keep a gen 6 living dex around.

I just completed my living dex last month. Got the Darkrai I was missing from an anon giving away codes. Only need Volcanion now. Debating whether or not to start getting all the different forms since Vivilion will be a hassle.
