The reason for fossil Pokemon is to have an excuse to bring in dinosaurs, or ancient looking Pokemon. Cenozoic animals don't really have enough "WHOA LOOKIT THAT" animals to get kids hyped up.

I'm honestly of the opinion that there is nothing wrong with mythbusters from an entertainment standpoint. Watch it, they do entertaining shit, then go on with your day. Why do people gotta make shit so complicated? I'm sure there are people out there who quickly go to Facebook after watching to share a I Fucking Love Science meme to their friends but that doesn't make the show terrible. The only gripe I have is the real hammy acting they introduced later on into their 'intro segments', fucking terrible.
