Fairy-type is just pink bullshit marketing toward girls. That being said there are a couple of decent Fairies in Gen VII, like Tapu Koko. I mean, it's not great, but at least it's not in a dress or wearing makeup.

Mechanically, Fairy needs another weakness and it'll be good. Get rid of its Bug resistance while you're at it. As a matter of fact, just make it weak to Bug. Buffs Bug offensively (which it sorely needs) and knocks Fairy down a fair peg. Done. Maybe make Grass, Ice, and/or Rock resist Fairy also.

I dont mind there being a fairy type but I'm really annoyed with the fact that there isn't any consistent theme with the type at all. Not the moon, not being pink, not being girly, nothing. There are exceptions to all of these and "fairy" really doesn't tell you much to begin with. Fairy seems to be loosely based on the color pink but it really just comes down to whatever GF says is fairy type.

I want Sound type because I like Exploud, Kriketune, and Seismatoad and despite /vp/ being against it I think it's the most justifiable new type that could be introduced.

Literally every other type has a diverse mix of cute, cool, weird, and edgy mons. Fairy seems to be lacking in anything other than cute or overtly feminine.
Granbull and Mr-Mime are decent enough non-cute mon exceptions, but Fairy sorely needs more.

I looked up the names for the type in other languages. It appears to be called the Fighting-type in Japan, though the heroic part may still be the main reason why Fighting-types are good against Dark/Evil-types. On another note, in German it's apparently known as the Kampf-type.

Its insane how many "sound type" pokemon there already are with "sound type" moves but Sound still isn't a type. Kriketune and Chimeco would benefit greatly from a Sound typing, mostly to make them stand out instead of being weak mono-types.
Exploud is the obvious poster-mon for mono-Sound, while Wigglytuff, Wailord, Bronzong, and Seismitoad can be argued for a Sound typing. Not sure how we'd handle Noivern.

Also, I still find it hard to get down with a Cosmic type, despite it often being touted as the most likely new type.
Cosmic themes are already fulfilled by Psychic, and concerning the Moon, Fairy. Cosmic Pokemon like Lunatone and Claydol are fine as Psychic, since that's a mysterious energy with historical links to astrology and cosmic energies already. How would Cosmic differentiate itself without stepping on Psychic's toes?
If Cosmic became a type, you might as well make a "top-hat magician" type with what Psychic has left.

I remember an anon suggesting a HA for Noivern that makes it part Sound type as well as Flying/Dragon, like how Trick-or-treat adds Ghost typing.
Also, don't forget the case of Gligar and its 5 possible types. Some pokemon just fulfill two other types more than others, such as the Zubat line; it's more about poison and biting, than it is echolocation. Supersonic is really its most infamous use of sound moves.

Granbull has a masculine face. Its doughy, chunky, scowling and not at all feminine. Its body is chunky as well with no defined hips or bust, making it masculine, or gender neutral at best. Saying "well the IRL animal its based on isn't particularly girly-looking" is a weak argument.

I still stand by the idea of an Air-type that gathers together orphaned concepts like Sound, Wind, Gas, Clouds and so forth into one type. Keep Flying-type as it mostly is now, an aerial combat and Wing-type. Ignore re-typing moves like Icy Wind or Poison Gas that have a stronger type association already established, or make them dual-typed moves like Flying Press. Same deal with Pokemon that already have a stronger type association already established, like Gastly or Altaria.

it was kind of interesting

It stopped dragons from being the end all be all, which is all I cared about when they introduced it. Poisin having a niche viability also makes me happy. Dunno why they used it to make bugs even worse, but beyond that I like it. If bug resisted it instead I would think fairy was a prefect addition to the meta, but as it stands it did its job of nerfing dragons well.
