There has never been a single shred of evidence disproving the existence of God. Therefore, you can infer that the reason it is referenced and worshiped by so many cultures, is that it must be real.

>>28755963
I don't know if a deity exists, but I do KNOW the Abrahamic male deity doesn't exist, for He is an illogical concept, rife with contradiction - a square circle of loving wrath, known to have gone through an evolution as He was compiled by the ancients throughout history.

Yes.
>>28755948
Ok, but some gods are old men. Some gods are young women. Some gods are animals. One god is a dragon god of magic with multiple heads.
Is your god a multi-headed dragon god?
>>28755290
>She is God
>>28756084

>>28756030
It literally doesn't. A theory that is not falsifiable and can't be disproven is not scientific. We can not prove that gOD doesn't real, therefore the belief that he exists is entirely unscientific.
>>28756076
I'm Catholic myself, but the reasons are admittedly cynical as you'll see.
So you don't believe in God (and I'll assume anything else "Supernatural) because it cannot be proven with an experiment. However, the Scientific Method itself is based on the idea that there IS something Supernatural, as otherwise our thoughts would simply be random acts of chemicals in our brains and, therefor, couldn't be Objective in that sense.
>>28756124
I doubt that.

Science can not prove or disprove of certain phenomena, such as the questions on what the meaning of life is or where all life came from. Questions like those outside of the scope of science - they are unscientific.
The theory that a god exists is one of those things that lies outside of that scope. It is not scientific by the very definition of the word.
If (You) were actually educated (You) would know why what (You) are saying is bullshit. It's philosophy of science 101.

>>28756164
And why exactly do thoughts need to adhere to your random definition of objective (which is capitalized, oddly; are you talking about the Platonic ideal or what?) for humans to be able to record observations?
>>28755290

>>28756392
>you're(sic) definition of what "evil" is is wrong
Elaborate, anon.
>>28756431
Science is not based on something unscientific, not sure where you are getting this from.... unless you are somehow interpreting the fact that us, who came up with science, do not understand where we as living beings came from and therefore science is unscientific, which would be a pretty bad misinterpretatation and missing the point pretty damn hard.
The short story is: Science exists as a convenient way for us to determine whether we think something is true or not. Exagtly what science entails has different between different times in history -- in the past people might have thought that there was scientific evidence that a god exists because that's what their "science" looked like. Our current, modern view of "science" has been formulated in such a way that if something can't be disproven, it's not scientific, and therefore the belief in the existence of a god is not scientific.
This doesn't mean that a god doesn't exist from a universal, objective viewpoint (one that we as a species will never attain), but from the viewpoint that we have agreed is "science", it doesn't.
So I'd suggest you'd stop pretending your belief in a god has some sort of scientific basic when it by the very definition of the word science doesn't.
>>28756491
Don't ask me, ask the people who invented Science.
By Objective, I mean completely unbiased. You know that funny edit of that Mickey Mouse strip where he says "Hypocrite that you are, for you trust the chemicals in your brain to tell you they are chemicals"? that's basically my argument
>>28756646
But humans can not and will never be able to reach some sort of "objective and unbiased" truth in the universe, therefore there is no value in discussing things from that perspective as neither you nor me nor anyone understands it. Science is the closest thing we have and it's what we will have to go by whether you like it or not.
Someone screencap this please
>>28756756
I mean, nobody will ever be completely unbiased, just like there will always be a variable in the experiment you didn't think of, but you have to assume that it is hypothetically possible for anything Science to properly function.
>>28756028
>being stupid
>>28756883
>>28756883
now I note that this does not necessarily prove the existence of God, you could always turn your back on Science, or just say that you still don't think God is real for other logical, but this is where I use Occam's razer. The existence of God gives a lot of problems in the universe a more Elegant solution
>>28756404

>>28755369
>God is real though
>>28756646

>>28756968
The guy who started this and most people for that matter probably have lost interest at this point, but what the hell, the thread's dead anyway and my autism is tingling.
Super tl;dr, I narrow down the possible religions to be Judaism , Christianity, Bhudism and Hinduism.
Buddhism and Hinduism are possible, but If they are and I'm not a Buddhist or Hindu I'll just get reincarnated.
Judaism is possible, but I wasn't born a kike so I don't get shit
>>28756883
whether or not "anything is possible" is true or not is completely irrelevant and has nothing to do with whether science properly functions or not. Just like >>28756491 said, why do you think we need to know why we are to be able to record observations?
>>28756968
The point is that you started off by telling people to "read a book" only to show that you have absolutely fuck all understanding of what you're talking about. You can think god is real for whatever reason you want and it doesn't affect anyone, but you should definitely have grasped that to a mankind that uses science as a tool to answer questions, it does not.
>>28757139
You don't understand why anything I said is actually important, so there's nothing I can do. It probably seems like I'm a retard who bit off more than he could chew and got BTFO, and I'm fine with random faggots on the internet thinking that. if anyone's making that screencap >>28756814 requested, make sure to include some sort of smug pepe next to me getting de_stroyed
>>28756968
The scientific method isn't a religion you fucking idiot. It's more elegant to say a god did something, but that doesn't make it true.
The most logical place to use "a god did it" is for creation, but then who created the god? It's an infinite loop. So the real Occam's razor is that existence just is how it is.
>>28755946
