this fucks up the metagame and we'll end up with a convoluted mess like Yugioh is right now.

the problem is that 2 types are shitty already because these mons will be seen as more valuable than the ones with only 1 type, simply because they have bigger movepools. nobody thinks about potential double weaknesses and it doesn't matter. just use something else and avoid the counter-type like the plague.

eg. Take Victreebel. it's Grass/Poison. infinitely more valuable and viable in battle than a cuck pokemon like Sceptile (or Meganium) that has a shit movepool because it's only one type.
they all learn normal type TMs just fine but Victreebel learns Poison ones like Toxic, Venoshock and Sludge Bomb. Sceptile can only learn Toxic but then again most pokemon can but it's still less varied in what it learns.

damage calculation will be fucked up if you have 3 types on top of that. how will they even balance that? if it has 3 types it might as well take most hits fairly neutrally.
