First game is tough for me. I read the shit out of Pokemon RBY strategy guide when I was 6 so I knew these games in and out, but I never played the actual 1st gen game until about 2004. Then I got a pirate cartridge containing both Pokemon Gold and Silver for some reason (without the ability to save, so the farthest I got in a single sitting was The Lake of Rage, which amazes me now that I think about it). Then came Pokemon Ruby and Fire Red, which I played on an emulator.
