Looking back I get why customization wasn't in ORAS. Unlike other games you encounter both your parents and if you changed your character's skin colour then you're going to look adopted. At least in XY/SM your darker skinned character can be considered mixed race, your ORAS character would be either adopted or the result of an affair.
