It was XY's worst arc? WTF? It was one of the best plot-written villain team finale's in the anime's history, had better action and drama than what's been seen in the anime for years, had great battles and animation, and had a fantastic use of the supporting cast where it wasn't just Ash doing everything like usual.

Fans from different generations gathered around to watch Ash fight off against his rival, only to get slapped in the dick by a garbage episode with horrendous writing that basically amounts to "ASH LOSES BECAUSE LOL". They then take us on a magical journey nobody caries about about some generic omnicidal maniac and his super strong Pokemon. Ash does nothing. His """Legendary Hero""" Greninja does absolutely nothing, despite all the buildup.

After all this, Ash did nothing. He barely contributed to the final fight. Now he leaves his new companion Greninja behind, and instead of continuing the dream, goes to fucking boarding school.

No true fan of Pokemon is happy with the Team Flare arc.

Lance's dub voice is so try hard, it hurts: god, both his 4Kids Anime and Origins voices were better, his Generations ones makes me cringe.

Bruno's voice is okay: same with Lorelei's, who probably got the best dub voice of the Elite Four. They're about equal in quality to their Anime dub voices.

Bosch as Blue works a hell of a lot better than him as Brock, actually, but still you can tell it's him again. Lucien Dodge in Origins was better.

In fact, the entire fact they were rivals was completely unconnected to the Team Flare arc since they never interacted as anything but allies there. They created the whole plotline with them as rivals for basically no reason in terms of the TF arc, Ash could've simply met Alan at the league and Manon in XY&Z36 and found out about Alan's goals that way, their interactions in the TF arc wouldn't have changed one bit. The whole point of making them rivals long before shit went down was exactly that, giving Ash a powerful rival to overcome. Too bad they didn't let it happen despite the buildup and now they never will.
