And as a bonus, It's got PokéWood just to the north, where you can get to see a more glamorous side of the area, get rich and famous, and set yourself up with Items for the rest of the game. Virbank definitely is one of my favorite places to be in the games.

I always imagined Goldenrod as the London of Pokémon. Pretty sure the anime gave it double-decker red buses, which helped.

Speaks for itself, comfy autumn-set Japanese style town.

I wish they gave you more reason to stay here longer, or return in some side-quest(s). Very comfy town, preceded by a swamp. Underrated.

>That one route in Hoenn with the Secret Base by the Waterfall, and the Weather Institute at the end;
Hoenn is notoriously un-comfy, with the loud constant trumpets, endless Wingulls and water, and harsher adventurous environments. But this one route I think is possibly the most enjoyable to explore in the entire franchise.

The biggest sigh of relief to reach this comfy town after making it through the Mountain, and the blizzard. The only problem with this town is such little happens here because Regigigas is basically permalocked now. I would like to think there will be more (possibly post-game) to do here in a remake.

I always thought Virbank was pretty disgusting, with Muk catchable in the water and pipes running across everything. The complex is dark and overgrown, doesn't look like a nice place at all.

The neat arrangement of Canalave City is much nicer.

I live in the city, so I am used to living in a place that is dirty and unpleasant to look at, and I can certainly see the comfy side of it too. At least in the Pokémon universe where you wont be robbed by blacks at night.

Canalave is nice too though! Although, being haunted by a Darkrai isn't exactly nice.

Pokemon is at its best atmosphere wise the less they play up any futuristic aspect

The Holocaster, Kalos Pokedex design, and various holographic roadsigns were all horrendous and the main reasons I don't like that region as a setting

I remember visiting Virbank for the first time, it was night, and it was raining. The smooth rain and the light foggy effect, along with the chill music, damn. Such a relaxing moment, felt like wanting to enjoy it with a glass of hot coffee, such a calm moment of silent bliss.
