I've said it before and I'll say it again. A slice of life anime focused on pokemon is a fucking great idea. The protagonist should have been basically ANYONE but ash. Bonnie, Max, or just some new shithead with a pikachu would have been fine.

So as someone who hasn't watched much anime besides Pokémon and a couple of others, can you explain "slice of life" anime to me? From my very general awareness of what it is, it sounds like a Pokémon version of that would be quite boring, like an entire anime based around what we now consider filler episodes. But maybe I'm wrong, and I'm willing to hear arguments from people who know this genre better.
